With DDD and Self-Contained Systems to a Better Data Architecture

In this talk, I will show you the basics of Domain Driven Design and its practical implementation of self-contained systems in a distributed landscape. We will see the benefit of domain-related system borders and the use of event-driven service buses like apache Kafka. Also, I will show how those systems not only interact together, but also give good and easy-to-use access for data analysts and BI systems.

I will also show two examples of real-world systems in which the one system was grounded around a single-bought software monolith and where DDD and self-contained systems can help to get a migration path to a 30 year old mainframe application and the integration into the surrounding system landscape.
