Productionalize Analytics Metrics Delivery via Slack
As part of the Data Science Engineering team, we have built up a solid data platform to support GoPro Business including E-Commerce, Product Analytics, Digital Marketing operations, Subscription business.
The data platform includes GoPro’s data lake management, Compute Infrastructure, Data Engineering Framework, Machine Learning infrastructure, and Analytics metrics reporting. In this talk, we will discuss how to “push” the analytics metrics to business users via Slack to provide metrics at finger tips. Over the last several years, we have leveraged this reporting framework to publish subscription analytics, camera analytics, mobile analytics, media, and cloud analytics, and with many people from different departments consume metrics on daily basis. We will discuss why we leverage slack for metrics delivery, the slack reporting architectures, how to leverage configuration, and Apache Spark to automate the slack layout and visualization.
