How It Started and How It’s Going – Our Journey from Ground Zero and Where We Stand After 2 Years
Starting off with a clean slate and building something from scratch can be liberating, but also a daunting task when you actually get into it. Freshful by eMAG launched as a new business project from the Romanian e-commerce company, with the goal of delivering fresh groceries to people’s doors. We always approached it as a startup. In this session, we will discuss where do we begin when creating a BI infrastructure on the AWS for such a startup, an infrastructure that moves away from the classical data warehouse and harnesses the power of the cloud. We will start off with the thought process that lead to the selection of the tools we used including the tools that we analyzed but didn’t make the cut.
Also, we will see how it went in the first two years, the challenges we faced, and how we mitigated them.
