Tech Track: Distributed Monitoring for the Edge Cloud
Monitoring millions of devices spread across hundreds of thousands of tiny geographically distributed datacenters poses unique challenges. Bigstep, the UK-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider, is powered by MetalSoft, the intelligent bare metal automation platform, benefiting from its distributed monitoring architecture. This talk shows MetalSoft’s hierarchical approach to monitoring where far-edge sites collect and store monitoring data in in-memory round-robin databases and near-edge sites work together to aggregate data using a map-reduce style approach.
