“But Does It Scale?” Tales of “Clouded”Judgment, Cargo-Cults and Anti-Patterns
Today’s big data architectures tend to over-emphasize scalability a little too much in spite of the purpose of the business they’re deserving. Looking only forward, buying into cargo-cults and ignoring decades of lessons from the tried and tested fields of domain (and database) design, software and system architecture, we end-up with costly, non-flexible designs that are edging on the side of anti-patterns.
