Big Data in medicine – use of technology for better lifecare

Technological developments in recent years have led to major changes in the ecosystems of all fields, but medicine is probably the field that has experienced the greatest evolution.

The exponential growth of the volume of data stored in digital format, allowed us to use new analysis principles defined as BigData. Therefore we are witnessing a paradigm change, with the shift of the center of gravity from the disease to the patient. Modern methods of analysis allow predictions at an individual level, proposing individualized diagnostic and therapeutic management solutions.

In light of these advances, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest has launched a series of actions to develop training programs for students, Ph.D. students, and academics, as well as a series of research projects in various fields using BigData analysis. We hope that we will manage to complete these projects and then begin new ones in order to ensure better lifecare for our patients.
