ZERO2HERO: An Advanced Data Platform to Drive User Engagement
Every year, millions of new users register through the adidas Runtastic apps and start doing sports. One of the biggest challenges in the digital fitness industry is to motivate new users to keep a high engagement, avoiding them to stop doing sport in the long run. Even more challenging for our Product Teams is to identify, understand and explain the reasons behind each customer’s decision to churn in order to drive the best app features release.
The Data Team at adidas Runtastic built ZERO2HERO: a scalable platform powered by Apache Spark and Delta Lake to extract, store and analyze user behavior efficiently and in an automated way. We will present an overview of the platform and follow it with a concrete use case demo showing how Engaged Users’ information is visualized and easily customized using Databricks.
