I’m a Site Reliability / Database Reliability Engineer at Adobe, working on keeping large-scale data systems fast, stable, and resilient – with a strong focus on Apache Cassandra.

A few years back I was mainly a Python developer with little NoSQL experience, so becoming deeply involved in distributed databases has been a bit of a surprising (and rewarding) journey. Along the way, I’ve developed expertise in running Cassandra at scale, from cluster design and tuning to automation and troubleshooting the quirks that only show up in production.

I also like sharing what I learn. I’ve given talks at conferences and meetups, and I make it a point to stay plugged into what’s happening in the Cassandra community. Most recently, I gave a presentation at Community over Code 2025, which was also a great chance to connect in person with people from the community. I’ve also made small contributions to open source, mainly around Cassandra, and I’d like to continue building on that involvement.

Outside of work, I enjoy things like kayaking and classical music. On that same Community over Code trip, I also had the chance to go kayak whale watching — a recent and unforgettable experience.
