Esolutions Grup SRL, Bigstep Cloud SRL and its affiliates (hereinafter referred to as “eSolutions”, “Bigstep”, “we”, “us” or “our”), are information technology services companies based in Bucharest, Romania, organizers of 2021 Bucharest Big Data Week event.
eSolutions respects your privacy (by “you” we mean any current or prospective eSolutions event attendee, client, or supplier whose personal information is in our possession) and we are committed to maintaining confidentiality and the privacy of the personal information we collect.
eSolutions will process the personal data only to the extent and in such a manner as it is necessary to provide the services under the agreement or as otherwise instructed by the customer or the supplier from time to time.
Our personal information practices are described below, in any applicable privacy supplements, and in notices regarding data collection.

- Scope and consent to our use of your information
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information and other information (such as Non-Personal Information) collected by Esolutions from or about:
- visitors to or users of bucharest.bigdataweek.com;
- current and prospective customers using Esolutions services and attendees at Big Data Week Conferences;
- service providers and business partners;
- job applicants;
- other third parties we interact with.
By providing your personal information to Esolutions in the ways described in this Privacy Policy, you:
- accept this Privacy Policy and any supplementary privacy statements and notices that may be relevant to you;
- agree that you are authorized to provide this information.
Please do not register, subscribe, create an account or otherwise interact in any way with our services or Big Data Week website if you do not agree with the practices mentioned in this policy.
- What information does eSolutions collect?
As used in this Privacy Policy, “Personal information” or ‘personal data’ means information that relates to an identified individual or to an identifiable individual. For example, this could include among other things your name, address, email address, business contact details, or information gathered through your interactions with us via our websites or at events. Personal information is also referred to as ‘information about you.’
We may also collect information that is related to you, but that does not identify you personally. This type of information is called “Non-Personal Information.” Non-personal Information also includes information that, in its original form, could personally identify you, but that we have modified (by means such as anonymizing, aggregating, or de-identifying) in order to hide or remove any Personal Information.

The information you give us or our service providers
You may provide Personal Information when you access bucharest.bigdataweek.com website, when you request information about the event, when you purchase tickets and use our services, when you communicate with Esolutions via phone calls, email, web forms, social media, and other such methods of communication, when you subscribe to Esolutions marketing collaterals, attend our events or provide us services.
We may also automatically collect information about you via cookies or other similar technologies.

Information from other sources
We may receive information about you from third parties we work closely with (such as business partners, service providers, sub-contractors, etc.).
Any Personal Information that you choose to submit via the Big Data Week website, related blogs, or forums may be read and collected.
Co-branded services
Since some Esolutions services may be co-branded and offered in association with another company, if you use such services, both Esolutions and the other company may receive information that’s collected via that co-branded service. The company whose privacy policy is displayed on a co-branded website will be responsible for Personal Information collected on such a website.
Esolutions may engage the services of third-party partners who, in the process of supplying services to eSolutions, may collect Personal Information about you, which may include your name, email address, and online activity.
- Types of collected Personal Information
- Contact information: such as your name, job title, telephone and fax numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, current place of work. When you express interest in obtaining additional information about our events, we require that you provide the aforementioned contact information;
- Transactional information: such as billing information
- Optional information: any other information that you choose to give us. This information helps us tailor our services to you;
Information collected via automated means: information that we collect through information-gathering tools, such as cookies. This kind of information includes information from your web browser – browser type, language, IP address and your activity on Esolutions websites (the web pages viewed, the links accessed, number of visits, domain name, language information, etc.);

Any information regarding your medical or health condition, race or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs or other such private information is considered sensitive information and we will not intentionally collect, maintain or provide such information to third parties.

We use the collected information for the following purposes:
To communicate and respond to your requests and inquiries
We use your contact information to get in touch with you, for reasons such as communicating with you about your orders or the services you use, conducting surveys, sending announcements about our services, notifying you about upcoming events, or other promotional activities or events sponsored by us. We request the contact information in order to fulfill our contractual obligations and for our legitimate interests;
For marketing purposes
We use your contact information to recommend products and services that might be of interest to you, to send you marketing and advertising messages such as newsletters, announcements or special offers or to notify you of upcoming events. If you attend an event, Esolutions may process information about you gathered in relation to the event and can share information about your attendance with your company. You may always opt-out from receiving such communications, and this decision will not affect your ability to continue receiving services from us;
To provide the requested services to you
We need the required Contact Information, Transactional Information and Billing Information for processing orders (including payments), for providing you the services, and to fulfill other contractual obligations;
To protect ourselves
We use the collected information to prevent and to detect fraud or abuses of the Esolutions website and services, and to be able to identify and protect our business from fraudulent transactions. It is both a legal obligation and in our legitimate interest to collect information for this purpose;
To help us manage our business needs
To help us manage our business needs such as the administering and management of our business and the training of our employees. Also, it is in our legitimate interest to promote compliance with our terms of service and any other agreements between us, to carry out research and development, and to comply with the applicable law;
To analyze, develop, improve and optimize the use, function and performance of our sites, products and services
We may process personal information in order to analyze, develop, improve and optimize the use, function, and performance of our site, products and services, as well as marketing and sales campaigns.
Other purposes:
If you purchase our services via eSolutions website or partners’ websites, the information you submit through email and web form is archived and may be tied to information that we collect about your web visits. Your telephone call or a web conference may be recorded for training purposes, and we may enter the information you provide via telephone, or other means of communication, into our systems and use it to fulfill our contractual obligations and for legitimate interests. We also collect cookies to give our users the best experience while browsing the website. We use cookies to collect information about your device, like IP address, operating system, and browser type.
- What is our basis for processing information about you?
For personal information collected about you in the EU, our basis for processing is the following:
- In order to communicate adequately with you and to respond to your requests, we need to process information about you and therefore have a legitimate interest in processing this information.
- In order to engage in transactions with customers, suppliers, and business partners, and to process purchases and downloads of our products and services, we need to process information about you as necessary to enter into or perform a contract with you.
- We process personal information for marketing and sales activities based on your consent where so indicated on our sites at the time your personal information was collected, or further to our legitimate interest to market and promote our products and services.
- We rely on our legitimate interest to analyze, develop, improve and optimize our sites, products, and services, and to maintain the security of our sites, networks, and systems.
In order to comply with applicable laws and regulations, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, or to process an opt-out request.
- For what period do we retain personal information?
Esolutions maintains personal information for the following retention periods:
- Information about you we collect to engage in transactions with our customers, suppliers, and business partners, and to process purchases of our products and services, will be retained for the duration of the transaction or services period, or longer as necessary for record retention and legal compliance purposes.
- Contact information such as your email address or phone number collected online on our sites or offline from our interactions with you at Esolutions events and conferences, and used for direct marketing and sales activities will be retained for as long as we have an active (customer) relationship with you. We treat you as an active contact if (i) you have interacted with Esolutions or updated your contact details and preferences in the past 18 months; and (ii) you have not made a deletion request.
- Sharing of Personal Information
The personal information we gather is for internal use only, and we will not authorize the release of this information to anyone outside of Esolutions, unless you have consented to such disclosure, except for the limited circumstances described in this Privacy Policy. Shall we ever need to provide the Personal Information to third parties, we will only share it to the reasonably necessary extent. Also, we may share your Personal Information as required or permitted by law.

Disclosure to third-party business partners and providers:
To the extent necessary for the provisions of services, we may disclose your Personal Information to third-party service providers, if necessary. We assure you that we require our third-party service providers and business partners to keep all the information we share with them confidential and to use the aforementioned information only to perform their obligations resulting from the agreements we have in place with them. They are required to maintain a proper level of privacy and security, consistent with Esolutions policy regarding such information.
Please note that any information you independently share with these third parties is subject to their respective privacy practices and policies.
Disclosure to Authorities:
If we are under a legal obligation to share your Personal Information, we may disclose the information to the relevant authority. To comply with the law, to protect our rights, property, the safety of our business, to enforce our rights, and to assist with the control of fraud, spam, or other undesirable conduct, and to support auditing, we may release the Personal Information. In the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, transfer, or any such act, we may provide the Personal Information to a third party.

For any purposes disclosed by us when you provide the information, as otherwise required or permitted by law, we may share it if we have your consent.

We may share information that does not identify any individual without restriction.

You may always click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the relevant email marketing communication received from us if you wish to stop receiving such emails. We reserve the right to retain your Personal Information for a reasonable amount of time, in accordance with industry standards and applicable laws.

You may submit a request to us at privacy.bigdataweek@esolutions.ro if you wish to know what Personal Information, we hold about you. Also, through the request, you may also correct, delete inaccuracies, and/or update the information we hold about you. You may also revoke your consent previously granted. Should you wish to delete the information from our records, please contact us, and we will respond within a reasonable time. If necessary, given each particular case, we may be required to retain certain information for legitimate business purposes and by law.
When using Esolutions services, you can choose not to provide certain information, but this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the available functions, and it may prevent us from successfully providing you with our services.
- Information Security
eSsolutions has implemented appropriate technical, physical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, damage, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, as well as all other forms of unlawful processing.
However, we cannot guarantee that the measures taken will prevent every security threat. In the event of a security breach that results in an unauthorized disclosure of information, we will notify you as soon as possible.
- Data integrity
We take reasonable steps to help ensure that the data we collect is accurate, complete and up-to-date, for it to be reliable for its intended use. The collected information will be retained for as long as needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected.
- Information about Children
We will never intentionally collect or maintain information about individuals defined as minors in local law or regulation. However, if you believe that we are in possession of such information, please contact us, and we will make necessary inquiries and investigations and, if necessary, delete that information.

We periodically verify that this Privacy Policy is complete, accurate and comprehensive, displayed prominently and completely implemented.

Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time. You can check the “Last Updated” section at the top of this document to verify when it was last revised. In the event of any change that would affect the privacy of your Personal Information, we will notify you by posting an announcement on our website or by sending an email to the address tied to your user account. The notice will be given in such a manner that you will have a reasonable time period to object to any changes.

What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that are stored on a user’s computer. Can I see/view the cookies I have on my computer?

We use both session and persistent cookies on our website.
We use persistent and session cookies to recognize a computer when a user visits our website, track users as they navigate the website, improve the website’s usability and to administer the website, prevent fraud and improve the security of the website, and target advertisements that may be of particular interest to specific users.
We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of our website. Our analytics service provider generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies. The analytics cookies used on our website have the following names: __utma, __utmz, _ceg.s, _ceg.u, _ceir, _ga, _gat. The information generated relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of our website.
Our website also uses third-party cookies, from services such as Facebook and LinkedIn, in order to deliver ads within these social networks. Perfect Audience cookies are used for remarketing purposes and myconnector.ro cookies are created and used in order for us to fulfil our contractual obligations, giving the users access to the tickets, depending on their preferences. This category of cookies can last up to one year.

Most browsers allow you to refuse or to accept cookies; for example:
Microsoft Internet Explorer
To turn on third-party cookie blocking, click the gear icon in the upper-right corner, then click “Internet Options” from the drop-down list.
Click the “Privacy” tab and set it to “Medium High.” By doing this, you will block all third-party cookies.
When you’ve finished, click on the “OK” button to exit the Internet Options and save the changes.
Microsoft Edge
Tap or click on the three dots in the upper-right corner of the browser window. Select “Settings” at the bottom of the menu.
In the settings tab/window tap or click on “View advanced settings.”
Now, in the advanced settings, under the Cookies heading, click the drop-down menu and select “Block only third-party cookies.”
Close the settings tab/window and Edge will now block third-party cookies.
Firefox
For Firefox, click the three lines in the upper-right corner, then click “Preferences.”
With the Preferences open, note that there’s an option to turn on Firefox’s Do Not Track option. Below the Tracking preferences, click “Remember History” and then select “Use custom settings for history” option.
From the custom history settings screen, click the drop-down list next to “Accept third-party cookies” and then choose “Never.”
Google Chrome
On Chrome for desktops, click the three lines in the upper-right corner, then click “Settings.”
Scroll to the bottom of the settings and click “Show advanced settings” at the bottom of the settings screen.
On the advanced settings screen, click “Content Settings…” under the Privacy heading.
With the content settings open, click the box next to “Block third-party cookies and site data.”
Apple Safari on OS X
On Safari for OS X, you will need to open the Preferences by clicking on the Safari menu, or using the old standard keyboard shortcut “Command +.”
With the Preferences open, click the “Privacy” tab, then under “Cookies and website data” click “Allow from current website only.” At the bottom of the Privacy tab, there’s also an option to turn on Safari’s Do Not Track feature.
- Deleting Cookies
Google Chrome
Click on the “Menu” tab in the upper-right corner and select “Settings.” From there, click on “Show Advanced Settings,” at the bottom of the menu, and then “Content Settings.
Chrome gives you four options when it comes to how to deal with cookies. You can store all cookies without discretion, store all cookies but delete them once you close your browser, block cookies entirely (we don’t recommend this), and block third-party tracking cookies.
Click on “All cookies and site data…” to see a list of all the cookies Chrome has stored on your hard drive. From there you can delete specific files individually or delete everything by selecting “Remove All.”
Mozilla Firefox
Click on the “Tools” menu button at the top, and in the drop-down menu, select “Options.” Navigate to the “Privacy” tab and under “History” set Firefox to “Use custom settings for history.”
Click on “Show Cookies…” which appears once you’ve enabled custom settings for your browser history. From there, you can scroll through a list of cookies accumulated by Firefox, clear them individually or remove them all as a group.
Apple Safari OS X
Click on the Safari menu in the upper-left corner and scroll down to “Preferences.” Alternatively, in the same menu, choose “Clear History,” and you can delete everything in one go, from a variety of time frames. If you would much prefer to have more control over what is deleted, choose the “Preferences” option.
In the “Privacy” section, you can use “Cookies and website data” to dictate whether or not Safari should accept cookies. You can use the option “Remove All Website Data” to remove everything in one fell swoop. Alternatively, click on “Details” to see a list of each cookie stored in the browser.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Open Internet Explorer, click on the “Tools” menu, and select “Internet Options.”
To delete all cookies, head to the “General” tab under “Internet Options” and then click “Delete…” under the “Browsing History” tab. Check “Cookies and Website Data” and click delete.
Microsoft Edge
Open up Edge and in the top right-hand corner, click on the three horizontal dots. Then choose “Settings.”
On the next screen, make sure “Cookies & Saved Website Data” is checked. Then click “Clear.”
